Our in-person services take place in pet parents’ homes or other locations that matter most to you and your dog’s learning.
Our virtual services usually take place with you and your dog in your home, communicating with us through a device with or connected to a screen.

Whether you choose to learn with us or another animal behavior professional, we want you and your dog to get the best support.
We like to share this resource from the AVSAB (American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior) on How to Choose a Trainer.

THE LIMIT DOES NOT EXIST. . . BUT AGE CAN MATTER
Many of the ways you’ll learn with your dog will look the same, no matter their age. Just like for people, though, each season of life comes with unique characteristics that can influence learning.
We’ll help you understand the ways your dog’s life stage may make an impact, as it comes up, and how we’ll take that into consideration while you learn together.
WHAT ABOUT YOUNG PUPPIES?
In Home:
We’re happy to support puppies of any age in their home!
Out and About:
If your goals include locations outside of your home or interaction with dogs not living in your home, we follow the AVSAB (American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior) guidelines on when to start puppy socialization classes.
This means, with your commitment to your vet’s recommended vaccine schedule, we can start as early as 7-8 weeks in environments that are feasible to disinfect.

If you’re wondering how long you’ll spend learning, you’re not alone—this is one of the most common questions folks have when they’re looking for help and relief.
WHAT WE CAN DO
We want you to have the info you need to make the best choice with your time, energy, and money.
After a deep dive into your dog’s world through our consultation, we’ll give you a better sense of the time investment needed for your learning goals.
WHAT WE CAN’T DO
Most of us understand why a human therapist can’t say your relationship with your parents will be perfect in exactly 10 sessions—we’re in a similar boat.
Though we can’t ethically promise cookie cutter timelines like “your dog’s lifelong anxiety will disappear in 30 days” or “your fearful dog will be besties with everyone in 8 sessions”, most people tell us they have what they need to comfortably decide on next steps after their consultation.
WHAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE?
You and your dog are individuals who live and learn uniquely to you and that makes a difference!
Below are some examples of what in your lives can impact how long it takes to see a difference:
Whether your dog needs support with simple new skills like “come” or with deeper behavioral support through fear, anxiety, and aggression
Severity of fear, anxiety, or aggression
Availability
Ability to commit to management and homework recommendations
Your environment, as it relates to your goals (example: if your dog struggles with busses passing by and a bus stop is right in front of your home)
Household members’ commitment to learning
Your dog’s medical health
Needing to collaborate with a veterinarian or a veterinary behaviorist
Prerequisites to working toward goals (ex. muzzle training)
